What is Canberra - The Nation’s Capital?
The second edition of Canberra - The Nation’s Capital is a locally produced, designed and published informative photo book of Canberra. This book is designed to showcase Canberra’s institutions, architecture, urban design, vistas, views and natural beauty with contemporary photography and refined graphic design.
You won’t find festivals, shows, markets, tour routes, admission fees or hotel recommendations in this unique book. What you will find is information to help you understand, appreciate and enjoy the purpose-built capital of Australia and it’s natural setting.
This book is intended to be a piece of simple reference material that can be enjoyed and be useful both today and when you take it down from a shelf for a read many years in the future.
This is not a book just for Canberrans, this is a book for all Australians and people considering a visit to Australia.
What’s special about this book?
While some non-local authors provide a limited tourism-focused presentation of Canberra, I wanted to provide a good sampling of the city from a local’s perspective while leveraging my knowledge and experience.
Unlike similar publications and tourist material available, all photography was taken by myself at almost all hours of the day and night, while baking in the Summer heat or while feeling the cold in Winter.
I believe Canberra is more than a destination for school children on an interstate excursion, a flower show, a petrol-head extravaganza, or a city filled with seemingly inescapable roundabouts (it’s actually filled with Form One Lanes, thank you very much!)
Where can I get a copy?
